Adjusting & Thriving With Life At Home

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, people all over the world have had to adjust to a new way of living. With schools, gyms, restaurants and bars closing, our daily lives have changed drastically in a very short amount of time.

closed our NYC offices early last week to help prevent our employees from exposure on busy streets, subways and trains. The adjustment was a little more gradual for our team than most, yet many of us are still struggling with these changes in our daily routine.

Our VP of Ecommerce was feeling the weight of going into our second week of isolation and decided to reach out and make a connection with coworkers to both let them know they weren't alone, but also to offer some tips that have helped her adjust and thrive in her new routine.

We've decided to share her tips with you, and we hope you find them to be as uplifting and helpful as we did. Even though we may be separated, we are all in this together and it is important that we continue to help each other to navigate these unprecedented times.

1. Maintain your usual schedule

Keeping the same schedule can help you to feel a sense of normalcy. Go to sleep & wake up at the same time you usually do. Shower and getting ready in the morning (even if that means getting dressed into your comfy clothes).

2. Exercise

If you keep the same schedule, you'll be able to use your usual commuting time to get in a little extra exercise. While we may not be able to go to the gym, we can go outside for jogs or walks. It's important to keep your distance from others, but fresh air and getting your heart rate up can do wonders for nervous energy. Being outside has wonderful healing benefits.

3. Clean Up

Clutter doesn't make anyone happy. Clean up your new workspace and the rest of your home. If you're still able to get fresh flowers - even better! Make your new space a place you feel happy to be in.

4. Make time for the things you like doing

With all this freed up time - spend it doing things you don't usually have time for! Read a book, draw something, or do some yoga. Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube is awesome and free!

Finally, let's be kind and understanding of each other. Being more isolated is going to feel different to all of us, and each of us may have some good or bad days. Let's be here for each other!
